Medo H. Maz

Medo H. Maz is the pen name of Ahmed Al-Maznai. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and was molded by his parents and the surrounding cultures of Ottawa, Canada, and Sana’a, Yemen. He’s been living, surviving, and becoming an adult in the Bay Area since 2010.

Medo reads a wide range of books across many genres, fiction and non-fiction, generally reading/listening to 3 books at any given time between paperbacks and audiobooks. Some of his favorites in fiction are the Silo trilogy, Death on the Nile, The Cat Who Saved Books, and The Graveyard Book. Some of his favorites in non-fiction are Man’s Search for Meaning, Between the World and Me, How to Be a Woman, and Destiny Disrupted.

Medo has been honing his writing craft over the past decade, having written six books. He’s kicking things off with two debut novels, True Eye: Liar’s Guild (the first of a planned 7~8 book fantasy saga), and The Pretzel-Benders Book #1 (the first of a planned prequel trilogy to an extended crime-suspense series of novels). His goal is to publish two books a year with a few stand-alone novels in the mix for as long as he can—at least the next decade.
